Publication Ethics

Neotech: Journal of Information Technology Innovation adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal is committed to ensuring integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of the publication process.

1. Duties of Editors

  • Make fair and unbiased editorial decisions regardless of race, gender, religion, or institutional affiliation of authors.
  • Ensure that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated for their intellectual content without discrimination.
  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose information to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the editorial board.
  • Prevent conflicts of interest and ensure transparency in handling manuscripts.
  • Take necessary action in cases of suspected misconduct, plagiarism, or unethical research practices.

2. Duties of Reviewers

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to improve the quality of manuscripts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript and not use unpublished data for personal advantage.
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Report any potential conflicts of interest to the editor.

3. Duties of Authors

  • Ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been published elsewhere or under consideration in another journal.
  • Acknowledge the work of others by providing appropriate citations and references.
  • Avoid unethical practices such as plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or duplicate publication (see our Plagiarism Policy).
  • Clearly disclose any conflicts of interest or financial support that may influence the research.
  • Ensure that all co-authors have made significant contributions and agree to the final version of the manuscript.
  • Provide raw data or supporting information when requested by editors for verification purposes.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • Support the editorial board in handling ethical issues and maintaining the integrity of the publication process.
  • Ensure permanent availability and accessibility of published content through proper archiving systems (e.g., LOCKSS/CLOCKSS).
  • Promote academic freedom and ensure that ethical standards are applied consistently.

5. Handling of Misconduct

In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the journal will take all appropriate measures, including the publication of corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
